Join our talented students as they take charge and step into the director’s chair for one-act plays. In our student one-act festival, the next generation of directors will present a selection of 10-minute plays that will be fun for the whole family! Recommended for ages 6 and older.

Coming This Spring: Encore's production of Dare to Dream Jr. A Disney Musical Revue

May 29-June 7, 2026

This production is a high-energy musical revue that follows a group of trainees on their first day at the Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. Featuring songs from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II, the trainees discover the power of dreams to unite and inspire as they journey through iconic Disney moments. It’s a magical celebration for all Disney fans! Recommended for ages 4 and older.

Ticket Add-on Preshow Experiences

Join us for a cozy, high-energy Pajama Dance Party before the show begins! Kids are invited to arrive in their favorite pajamas and dance it out with our cast and crew to music, movement games, and more! It’s the perfect chance to shake out the wiggles and for friends to reunite and have a ball! $9 in advance, $10 at the door. Pre-Show Experience begins at 2pm and ends at 2:30pm. Children must be accompanied by a chaperone. Free for adults.

Jingle Bell Jam The Remix

December 5-14, 2025

Join us for Encore’s newest holiday tradition, Jingle Bell Jam! Back for a second year, this fun, family centered revue celebrates all winter holidays. Our talented students will perform heartwarming scenes and classic holiday songs with a live band. Jingle Bell Jam the Remix is the perfect way to deck the halls and bring in the holiday spirit! Recommended for ages 4 and older.

The Best Haunted House House Ever

September 26-October 5, 2025

When students from two different high schools sneak into a local haunted house to scare their classmates, utter chaos ensues. At first it seems like the students are just pulling Halloween pranks, but when a spooky zombie and mysterious ghost don’t fit into the students’ haunting plans it can only mean one thing–they are not alone in the house! Happy haunting! We recommend this production for ages 6 and older.

World Premiere! Sherlock in Wonderland

March 20-29, 2026
World Premiere!
Playwright: Lynne Streeter Childress

What happens when two of the most popular fictional characters of all time collide? Well, you will have to wait and see in Encore’s brand new original play. Search for clues alongside Sherlock Holmes in the crazy world of Wonderland. It will be an adventure! This world premiere production is by Lynne Streeter Childress. This production is recommended for ages 4 and older.

January 9-18, 2026

Join Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High in Disney’s High School Musical Jr., a fun-filled musical about friendship, self-discovery, and following your dreams. As cliques clash and the "status quo" is challenged, this energetic show reminds everyone that it's okay to break the mold and shine in your own way. Recommended for ages 4 and older.

July 17 - July 26, 2026

We're welcoming a new family to Encore. Meet The Addams Family! Wednesday Addams falls in love with a ‘normal’ boy and brings his family home to meet her delightfully eccentric relatives. When the two families come together for one unforgettable dinner, secrets spill, tempers flare, and love works its unexpected magic. Full of humor, kookiness, and heart, this musical celebrates family, acceptance, and embracing the people you call home… even if they’re a little unusual. Recommended for ages 8 and older.

Looking for Mamma Mia?

We’re thrilled to share that our Summer 2026 production will be The Addams Family! Due to the Broadway return of Mamma Mia and a planned national tourall licensing rights have been removed - and the season must go on!  The Addams Family offers the perfect blend of humor, heart, and larger-than-life characters for our summer audiences. We’re still big fans of Mamma Mia and we hope to bring it to Encore in the near future. Thank you for your enthusiasm and support. We can’t wait to share this kooky, spooky, joyful summer adventure with you!

Scout Workshops

Join us for a unique theatre experience with your scouts!

Encore Stage & Studio offers a special Scout experience package in addition to seeing a performance. Scouts can participate in a workshop specially designed to meet select badge and adventure requirements while exploring theater. Our workshops are taught by theatre professionals and are designed to help scouts gain confidence in learning to express themselves in different ways. Workshop content will address select requirements and teach scouts how to use their acting tools while having fun!

Fee and Registration

The scout theatre experience is priced at $25 per scout (this included workshop + show ticket). Additional performance tickets will be sold at the group rate of $11 for parents, siblings and scout leaders.

Packages must be prepaid and are non-refundable. Must have at least 12 scouts in order to register for workshop. One person must register for the troop or group (typically the troop/den leader).

Flip the Script

This National Endowment for the Arts-funded program presented its third production with Flip the Script: Foodways of Arlington, a Cultural Celebration.

This inspiring production will give a diverse group of students the free opportunity to devise and perform a theatrical piece on food traditions and stories of three distinct culturesin the global community of Arlington VA. History comes alive for students through research, engagement with community leaders, creative processworkshops, and community talkbacks after performances.

A Sidewalk Stroll

For audiences in preschool through 2nd grade

Follow three siblings who bring park adventures and friendly animals to life, all the while teaching your little one about navigating through life’s surprises. This is a 25 minute performance, followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.

Rocket Woman

For audiences in preschool through 3rd grade

One imaginary friend, cardboard boxes, and a brave Rocket Woman together make one journey that is out of this world! Join our Rocket Woman as she blasts off into space to prove that women love exploration and adventure too! Watch as she uses her creativity, ingenuity and sass to reach her goals and the stars! That’s one step for this Rocket Woman, one giant leap for imagination!  This is a 30 minute performance, followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.

Circulo/Circle

For audiences in preschool through 5th grade

Encore Stage & Studio presents a bilingual production, Circulo/Circle–-starring professional artists and hula hoops galore! This 360 degree adventure explores fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Redondo y redondo vamos! Round and round we go! This is a 25 minute performance, followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.

Flip the Script: The Day Nothing Happened

For audiences in middle school, high school through adults

The production explores the 1959 desegregation of Arlington's Stratford Junior High School. Following the performance, we will have a conversation about creating change in our community. This is an opportunity for people of all ages to come together to build bridges of understanding. This is a 30 minute performance, followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.
