Storybook Theatre: April 5 & April 12, 2008
Budding drama kings and queens will love the chance to act out a variety of their favorite tales. Focusing on acting skills will build the children's self confidence and encourage an appreciation of literature and theatre. Elements of simple props and costume pieces will help their performance for friends and families on the last day.
The Amazing Adventure: April 19 & April 26, 2008
Spend two weeks exploring great characters and stories -- everything from fairy tales to folk tales to kings and queens and folk heroes. Students will have a chance to portray fantastic characters from literature.
Myths and Legends from Around the World: May 3 & May 10, 2008
Myths are very old stories that come from the deepest and most powerful part of the human spirit. Closely linked to myths are legends: stories about people who may have once lived, but who have over the years grown larger than life. Focusing on characterization and motivation, students will explore the adventures, the magic, mystery, and the wonders of the human heart and spirit of various mythological and legendary characters.
