Parent Night Out in Arlington, VA — Your Night Out. Their Theater Adventure.

Drop your kids with the same team that runs their camps and classes. Pick them up happy. Go enjoy your evening.

Finding a night out when you have young kids is its own project. Finding one where your child will actually be engaged — not just parked in front of a screen in an unfamiliar room — is harder. Encore's Parent Night Out solves both problems.

This is a scheduled, supervised evening program at Encore Stage & Studio in Arlington, staffed by the same teaching artists and staff your family already knows from camps, classes, and productions. Kids spend the evening in a creative, theater-themed environment with activities, games, and imagination built in. Parents spend the evening wherever they want to be.

What Kids Do on Parent Night Out

This is not drop-off supervision. It is a designed experience in a building where creative engagement is the whole point.

Encore's Parent Night Out programming includes theater games, imaginative play, arts activities, and creative experiences tied to the world of live performance. Kids are active, grouped with peers their age, and guided by teaching artists who know how to run a room full of energetic children and make it fun rather than chaotic.

No screens. No sitting still. Just a few hours of exactly the kind of engaged, imagination-forward activity that Encore has built its reputation on for 60 years.

A Night Out Paired With an Encore Show

On select dates, Parent Night Out runs in conjunction with an Encore Stage & Studio production — giving parents the option to drop their kids off for a supervised pre-show experience and then walk into the theater for the performance themselves.

Kids get themed activities, crafts, and games connected to the show they are about to see. Parents get to watch the show as an actual audience, without managing a young child through it. Everyone ends up in the same building, having a genuinely good time, and you leave together.

It is the kind of evening that does not usually come together this cleanly. Check the current show schedule to see which upcoming productions have paired Parent Night Out dates.
